Alex McGruer

The speed and quality of the service, and the experience and knowledge of the technicians that McGruer Agencies Ltd boasts are thanks to the vision, drive, and personal principles of the company founder, and CEO, Alex McGruer.

Born in Scotland in 1957 Alex McGruer moved with his family to Newfoundland in 1967 and fell in love with both the rugged natural beauty of the island, and with the personable, friendly demeanor of the people who call it home.

Enlisting in the Canadian Military at the young age of 19 instilled in Alex both the importance of personal safety and security, and the skills involved with ensuring the safety and security of others. Skills that he further honed with his experience as a volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross Society, and his many years as an avid kayaker.

After leaving the Military Alex honed his technical knowledge in school where he rose to be in the top of his class as an automotive technician.

Founding McGruer Agencies Ltd in 1985, Alex McGruer has been the driving force behind the supreme excellent and quality that this company is known for, and has fostered our success for over 30 years.
